The Family Place operates from September to June each year. We follow the school year calendar and open for the year the Tuesday after Labour Day. Our first day of operation this year is September 8, 2014. We are closed for the Christmas Break from December 22nd to January 2nd inclusive; reopen January 5, 2015. We are also closed for March Break (March 16-20, 2015). We will be closed on all school PA days. We strive to offer a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children, parents and caregivers. We hope you will join us in making Family Place the best it can be!
Effective communication is very important in maintaining a positive environment. If there is a concern you would like to address with a staff or board member, please speak with us in confidence and we will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have. We value your feedback!
The centre is equipped with a wide variety of age appropriate toys and materials for your child to explore. Please support your child in their play by showing interest in what they are doing and ask open ended questions to help extend their learning. When your child is finished playing in one area of the centre, please assist them in tidying up their materials before moving on to the next area. This way, we can maintain a neat and organized environment for all children to enjoy.
If your child is ill, we ask that you keep them home from the Centre. This includes any sign of fever, vomiting or diarrhea.
